Our Mission

Rally the People!

We can no longer sit idly by and tolerate the direction our country is headed in. The people are not in control, our voice is not present. A few very powerful interests and enormously wealthy people control our nation. These forces have corrupted the ideals of our nation. They have taken a religion of peace, acceptance, and common prosperity and have turned it into a religion that celebrates greed and violence. This has all happened because we allowed it to happen. We have been coerced into apathy and have allowed ourselves to believe that we can do nothing to stop what is going wrong. And thus corruption flourishes and our government slips closer to an oligarchy. There is still time; the task is not impossible. But the only way we will ever be successful is if we come together and make our voices heard. The OPA seeks to be the medium towards the rise of true people powered politics in Central Florida. Politics in the US needs to be refocused towards helping people, not just the powerful few!

Unite the Progressive Causes

Our primary goal is to ally the progressive groups of central Florida so that we can stand on equal ground with the right. Its high time that the progressive causes realize that we must stand united, regardless of our differences. We share more than enough common ground to warrant this. The OPA doesn't seek to infringe on the sovereignty of any member group. The main purpose of the OPA Is to unite the active progressive groups and mobilize the people to forge a better way.

Help Out, Join In, Make A Difference

A better government focused on the will and well-being of its people won't just form by itself. The only way it will happen is through the dedicated work of millions of citizens. People like you and me, who want a better America that cares for ALL of its own and projects its power responsibly on the world stage. The OPA meets on the 15th of every month at UCF, within the Student Union building. The meeting is held inside the Office of Student Development, on the second floor of the Student Union. Check the calendar of progressive activity to obtain up to date information on the status of all OPA meetings.
